After he gives Goku the Flying Numbus you’d think that Master Roshi would be stuck for air transportation!  No such chance, although this secondary transport option makes the rider very, very sick. Baby Gamera is based on the Japanese mythological monster Gamera.  Gamera is a flying turtle from the popular Japanese “kaiju” (Giant Monster) films.  It’s worth noting that Arale Norimaki from Toriyama’s earlier series, Dr. Slump, has an obsession with these monsters and has a pet turtle named after it.
